Uploading and configuring HTML5 creatives (Agency solution)

This guide explains how to upload and configure HTML5 creatives in Smart AdServer’s Agency solution. If you are using Smart AdServer’s Publisher solution, click here).

Preparing the HTML5 creative

Prior to uploading an HTML5 creative, make sure your creative complies with the specifications described here.

To use Smart AdServer's click counting solution for HTML5 creatives, please proceed as follows:

Add the following script in the <head> of the HTML5 creative's index.html file:

<script src="//ns.sascdn.com/diff/templates/js/banner/sas-clicktag-3.0.js"></script>

In the <body>, declare the clickTag variable but leave its value empty:

<script type="text/javascript">
 var clickTag = "";
</script>

To manage the clickthrough, use the following code in the body:

<a id="clickUrl" href="#">
</a>
<script>
 var clickArea1 = document.getElementById("clickUrl");
 clickArea1.onclick = function(){
 window.open(clickTag, "_blank");
 }
 </script>

Keep in mind: in Smart AdServer's agency solution, multiple clickthrough URLs are not supported. Per creative, you can use only one clickthrough URL.

Note: If the HTML5 creative is served in a secure context, the HTML5 creative must load libraries (javascript file, css file, etc.) and any other resources with https. Check all the URLs inside the HTML5 creative and make sure that libraries and resources are called with https. Otherwise, browsers will issue a security warning and ad delivery will fail.

Please find a sample of a working HTML5 creative here.
