4 - Finding non-RTB+ inventory

Overview

This article explains how to identify inventory (websites and formats) which is currently not being monetized by RTB+ (only direct campaigns or empty inventory).

When identified, you can add this non-RTB+ inventory to your RTB+ insertion to include them in your programmatic strategy.

Create reports

Create report 1

Go to Reports > Creation of a report

  • select the Period: Previous week
  • select the columns Site and Format
  • switch to the Metrics section
  • deselect all pre-selected metrics
  • select the metric Default Pixels

Create report 2

Go to RTB+ > RTB+ custom reports > Creation of a report

  • select the Period: Previous week
  • select the columns Site and Format
  • switch to the Metrics section
  • deselect all pre-selected metrics
  • select the metric Auctions

Prepare template

Download this Excel template

  • Under "Paste direct campaign report here", paste the data of report 1
  • Under "Paste RTB report here", paste the data of report 2

Interpret results

  • check the columns Site missing in RTB?, Format missing in RTB? and Site+Format missing in RTB? to see which inventory is currently without RTB+
  • the column Default pixels represents inventory without any ad delivery (empty inventory); sort it (descending) and focus on inventory with a high number of default pixels (many impressions are unused); these portions of inventory have the greatest potential in terms of RTB+ revenue
